Ceist:352 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the results of the evaluation of the AIDS pilot programme in schools; and if she will indicate the criteria and methodology of this evaluation.

The monitoring and evaluation of the AIDS pilot programme involved administering a questionnaire to participating students before and after the programme; visits to participating schools during the implementation phase and interviews with principal and class teachers; interviews with a sample of participating students; classroom observation; completion of a questionnaire by teachers on all aspects of the pilot programme; a post-implementation seminar structured to receive feedback through working grants.
In addition, copies of the material were sent for information and comment to interested parties including school management bodies, school patrons, teacher unions and the national parents councils.
