163 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount paid to date under the most recent house improvement grant scheme; and the total estimated cost of the remainder of the qualified applications with his Department.

164 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of grants paid out in County Sligo under the most recent house improvement grant scheme for each year since its introductionl; and the total estimated cost of qualified applications still to be paid out in this county.

165 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of grants paid out in County Leitrim under the most recent house improvement grant scheme for each year since its introduction; and the total estimated cost of qualified applications still to be paid out in this county.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 163, 164 and 165 together.

The total paid in grants under the 1985 scheme up to 31 March 1990 amounted to £182.5 million. The amounts paid annually in respect of houses in Counties Sligo and Leitrim were as follows:

Since grant applications in respect of which works have been completed may be at various stages of processing, information on the estimated cost of qualified applications with my Department at any particular time is not readily available.
