Ceist:57 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health if he will outline his plans for the future of the Nurses' Training School in Tralee, County Kerry.

The Nurses Training School in Tralee General Hospital currently forms part of a Regional Nurse Training School operated by the Southern Health Board at Cork Regional Hospital and Tralee General Hospital.
As I informed the Deputy in November, a proposal to have the training school at Tralee recognised as an independent training school has been submitted by the Southern Health Board to An Bord Altranais. This proposal is currently being considered by an bord and discussions between An Bord Altranais and local management in the two hospitals concerned are ongoing.
