Ceist:21 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance if he will request that experts on coastal erosion from the EC assist the task force set up by the Government to assess the extent of storm damage in coastal areas.

The Cabinet subcommittee established by the Government sought the advice of the Department of the Marine's engineering division who carried out an assessment of storm damage in coastal areas and reported to the subcommittee. The question, therefore, of consulting EC experts in the area did not arise.
