Vol. 398 No. 6

Written Answers. - Farmland Flooding.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

31 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to continuing extensive flooding of farmlands at Lower Cromane, Killorglin, County Kerry due to damage to the embankment at Lauhert, Cromane; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The embankments at Lower Cromane, Killorglin, County Kerry, are outside the area of embankments which were included in, and are currently being maintained by the Office of Public Works as part of the Maine catchment drainage scheme. As the resources of the Office of Public Works will be fully absorbed in maintaining those areas throughout the country for which they have a responsibility there are no proposals to undertake any works at Lower Cromane.
