Ceist:

33 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay this year in finalising the total funding allocation to the Arts Council; if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties being created for cultural events and organisations in maintaining their current year's activities due to the delayed allocation of final grants and financial supports; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The allocation to the Arts Council, including the allocation of national lottery funds, was published in the Revised Estimates for Public Services presented to the Oireachtas on 30 March 1990.

The Estimates were presented to the Oireachtas as soon as they were finalised by Government.
