Ceist:109 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount of confectionery products imported to this country for 1989; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Importation of Confectionery Products.
According to information supplied by the Central Statistics Office the total value of confectionery products imported during 1989 was £132 million. Policy regarding the development of the domestic confectionery industry is set out in the Strategy for the Food and Drink Industry 1988-1992 prepared by the IDA in consultation with my Department.
