88 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount of funding to the food and food processing industry in Ireland which transferred from FEOGA in the years 1986 to 1989 inclusive; the enterprises which have benefited from the transfers in these years; and the amounts by which they benefited.
It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to grants from FEOGA Guidance Section for capital investment in the food industry. Such grant payments are made directly to the individual beneficiaries by the EC Commission. From information supplied to my Department by the Commission, I understand that the amounts paid by them to the various sectors of the industry in the period 1986-89 were as follows:
