76 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will qualify for higher education or other similar educational grant to assist towards tuition fees in respect of a proposed course in the Loreto commercial college, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Higher education grants are tenable in respect of attendance at degree and other third level courses in universities and other institutions of higher education in Ireland. I regret that there are no schemes of financial assistance operated under the aegis of my Department from which a grant of tuition fees or maintenance could be made available to the student in respect of her proposed attendance in the Loreto commercial college.
