Vol. 398 No. 10

Written Answers. - Appointment of Remedial Teacher.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

212 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education if she will appoint a remedial teacher to be shared between St. Catherine's national school, Rush, and Loughshinny national school, Loughshinny, County Dublin, as there are a number of students badly in need of remedial attention.

To date the schools in question are not among those to which it has been possible for my Department to allocate the services of a remedial teacher in accordance with their assessment of priority of need. However, I have recently sanctioned 30 additional remedial teachers in primary schools and will be keeping the appointment of further remedial teachers under review.
