Ceist:229 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the reason for the delay in having a haulage licence issued to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the application has been processed and approved.
Written Answers. - Haulage Licence Delay.
The person referred to by the Deputy applied to my Department for an international road freight carriers licence on 2 February 1990. The Deputy may be aware that regrettably a backlog has existed in the processing of carriers' licences for some time. Steps are being taken to correct this situation. However, the Deputy will be glad to learn that the licence in question has now been approved, and was issued on 17 May 1990.
