Vol. 399 No. 3

Written Answers. - AIDS Prevention Programme.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

149 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health the amount of national lottery funding allocated towards the AIDS fund to date; if this funding will be made permanent in the future or substituted by Exchequer health funding on a more permanent basis; if this funding is earmarked for specific expenditure projects.

The figure of £2,124,880 has been allocated to date from the national lottery for the AIDS prevention and care programme. A breakdown of this amount is set out in a tabular statement which will be circulated in the Official Report.

I am not at this stage in a position to indicate the future sources of funding for the AIDS prevention and care programme. However, it is my intention to provide lottery funding for certain on-going projects in 1990.
