Vol. 399 No. 3

Written Answers. - Division of Commonages.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

86 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the difficulty in subdividing commonage where such lands did not come within the remit of the Land Commission, so that the intended transferees cannot be given an estate in fee simple upon sub-division of the commonage taking place; and if he will bring forward legislation to deal with this problem.

The division of commonages is undertaken by the Land Commission only where the users of the land are also the registered owners. It is not proposed to change this practice.
