Vol. 399 No. 4

Written Answers. - Beaumount (Dublin) Hospital.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

96 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that he continues to receive accurate information from the board of Beaumont Hospital regarding recent controversies in neurosurgery; that the Church and General Insurance Company will continue to provide insurance cover at the hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have had no reason to doubt the accuracy of any information which I or my Department received from the board or their officers of Beaumont Hospital concerning the hospital's neuro-surgical services. If the Deputy has evidence to the contrary, he should, of course, ensure that the information is made available.

The question of insurance cover is a matter for the hospital. I understand that there has been no change in the arrangements provided by the insurance company mentioned by the Deputy.
