McGarry; Mr. M. C. Gaynor; Dr. A. Meade; Dr. G. Fitzgerald; Dr. T. V. O'Dwyer; Dr. P. D. O'Mahony; and Professor G.G. Shaw.
The functions of the National Drugs Advisory Board include the assessment of all medicines in relation to their safety, efficacy and quality.
When making appointments to the National Drugs Advisory Board, I have to have regard to a number of factors, including the functions of the board as prescribed. The final composition of the board must be representative of appropriate professional and technical interests and also capable of carrying out its functions to the highest standard possible.
