Ceist:101 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if a site has been acquired for the National Indoor Sports Stadium, and if so, when work will commence.
Written Answers. - Indoor Sports Stadium.
The Custom House Docks Development Authority, who are acting as agents for my Department on the National Sports Centre, have acquired or have agreed terms for approximately 68 per cent of the twelve acre site. Acquisition of the remainder of the site is the subject of a compulsory purchase order.
The outcome of the public hearing on the CPO which was held in February 1990 is expected shortly.
It is not possible at this stage to give a date for commencement of construction.
