Vol. 399 No. 10

Written Answers. - Family Planning Funding.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

138 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the names and number of organisations which received grant aid to a total of £60,000 in 1989 for family planning purposes; if he has given consideration towards the financial assistance of the Irish Family Planning Association; and if he will make a statement on this matter in relation to 1990.

The funding allocated by health boards to clinics/organisations involved in family planning services in respect of 1989 was allocated among the following organisations — the Limerick Family Planning Clinic Limited, Newcastlewest Family Planning Clinic, Letterkenny Women's Centre Company Limited, Tralee Family Planning and Women's Health Clinic Limited, Family Life Centre Cork, the Catholic Marriage Advisory Council, and the National Association of the Ovulation Method in Ireland.

An application for financial assistance has been received by my Department from the Irish Family Planning Association Limited and this matter is at present under consideration.
