Written Answers. - County Kildare Road Realignments.

110 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when it is expected that refunds will be available to Kildare County Council for the completion of road realignments at Laraghbryan West, County Kildare; whether all preliminary requirements in relation to the project have been complied with; when it is expected that the realignments will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 6 June 1990 a local public inquiry was held in relation to a compulsory purchase order made by Kildare County Council for the acquisition of lands for road improvement works at Laraghbryan. The question of finance for the proposed work is premature pending a determination of the compulsory purchase order. In view of my quasi-judicial function in this matter, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
