Ceist:

40 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases at present listed for hearing in the High Court, Cork; the number of personal injuries compensation cases at present awaiting hearing in Cork; the number of personal injury compensation cases at present awaiting hearing in (a) Dublin (b) Limerick (c) Waterford and (d) Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed that the number of cases listed for hearing at the next High Court sittings in Cork commencing on 9 July 1990 is 1,040.

The number of personal injuries actions awaiting hearing at the venues mentioned is as follows: Cork, 2,145; Dublin, 5,099; Limerick, 1,090; Waterford, 205; Galway, 614.

The disposal of High Court business is a matter for the President of the High Court.
