Edward Nealon

Ceist:

124 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Marine the funds he is making available for urgently needed repair work at Mullaghmore Pier and Harbour, County Sligo.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 123 and 124 together.

Primary responsibility for coastal erosion protection along the Sligo coastline and for Mullaghmore Harbour rests with Sligo County Council.

However, following the severe damage to marine infrastructure caused by the storms of last winter, my Department were allocated £3 million from the exceptional storm damage fund to assist with the remedial works. I am now assessing grant allocations to local authorities, including Sligo County Council, from this fund.
