I am complying with the correct procedures. I suppose the first part of the question should be addressed to the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach who answers questions relating to the Central Statistics Office. However, I do not mind saying I have had a peep.
The targets set in the Programme for National Recovery were to create new job opportunities in planting of around 250 in 1987 and 1988 with an estimated additional 500 jobs in the downstream wood industries up to 1991. Increased planting programmes in 1987 and 1988 resulted in the creation of some 570 jobs in those two years which was well in excess of the target. Increased wood production generated some 800 jobs in harvesting between 1987 and 1989, which is also well ahead of target.
