Written Answers. - Disposal of Asbestos.

46 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Energy if he has had or plans any discussions with the ESB regarding the safe disposal of asbestos from peat burning power stations, which have been closed and which are now awaiting demolition; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been assured by the ESB that the removal of asbestos from their power stations is in accordance with national regulations and international standards.
