Ceist:40 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that there is adequate anaesthetist cover for Tipperary South Riding; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are finalising arrangements for the approval of an application from the South-Eastern Health Board for an additional post of consultant anaesthetist to be shared between St. Joseph's Hospital, Clonmel and Our Lady's Hospital, Cashel. The board is satisfied that with the filling of this post there will be an adequate level of anaesthetic cover in the South Tipperary area.
