Ceist:67 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine when he will be making announcements regarding the EC Structural Funds allocations for the port industry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Harbour Development Funding.
The operational programme for roads and other transport infrastructure, of which the programme for commercial harbours forms part, was submitted to the EC on 25 May 1990. Some outstanding aspects of the programme are the subject of discussion with the Commission and will be resolved within the next few weeks. Approval of the programme is expected in September.
My Department is also seeking EC assistance for a fishery harbour development programme which forms part of the operational programme for rural development.
