Vol. 402 No. 4

Written Answers. - Pre-School Facilities for Handicapped Child.

Toddy O'Sullivan

Ceist:

54 Mr. T. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health the action he proposes to take to provide a full-time pre-school place for a person (details supplied) in Cork who is suffering from cerebral palsy and has been diagnosed severely handicapped; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of pre-school facilities for handicapped children is a matter for the Southern Health Board in association with the relevant voluntary organisations. This child currently attends a pre-school run by COPE one day per week. COPE are keeping the frequency of the child's attendance at the pre-school under review.
