Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Medical Appliance Grant.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

167 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if he will review the request of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 for financial assistance towards the cost of a special artificial arm for his three-year-old daughter.

It is understood from the Eastern Health Board that the age of the child in question is 12 years and that during the period 1979 to 1986 the board provided appliances or replacements for this child on a number of occasions. An application form and income verification form were sent to the family in question, by the board, in April 1989 for completion in response to an inquiry. However, these forms were not returned and there is no application to hand or under consideration since that time. The board are now arranging to send appropriate application form etc. to the family and the matter will be considered fully when these forms are returned.
