166 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to introduce a structured system of recruitment to the General Medical Services posts; and if he will respond to statements made by a person (details supplied) in this matter.
There is a structured system of entry to the general medical services scheme which has been reviewed and revised since its inception in 1972. This system has been agreed in consultation with the Irish Medical Organisation, which is the recognised negotiating body for general practitioners participating in the scheme.
