Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hip Replacement Operation.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

174 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will gain admission to Cappagh Hospital, Dublin 11 for a hip replacement operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that the patient concerned requires another surgical procedure in addition to his orthopaedic treatment and this is a matter to be resolved by the two clinicians concerned.

Arrangements regarding an individual patient's position on a waiting list and when his/her operation is to be performed are entirely a matter for the clinicians concerned and the Deputy will appreciate that it is not a matter in which I have any involvement.
