Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

Michael Bell

Ceist:

67 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in issuing a tax free allowance certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when same will issue.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's return of income which would enable a tax free allowance certificate to issue was received on 28 September 1990. As the taxpayer was dealt with in a different tax district prior to her marriage, it was necessary to obtain information from that district before the matter could be dealt with. There is also some further information outstanding and the inspector of taxes has written to the taxpayer in this regard. A certificate of tax free allowances will be issued as soon as the information is supplied.
