Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Kilmore Quay.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

80 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Marine if he will provide finance to cover the cost of repairs and an extension to the pier at Kilmore Quay, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Development work at Kilmore Quay is proposed in my Department's fishery harbour development programme, which followed a detailed study of the infrastructural needs of the fishing industry.

The nature and extent of any work to be carried out at Kilmore Quay is dependent upon the results of a site investigation which will be undertaken as soon as possible.

My Department recently paid a grant of £45,000, from the special storm damage package, to Wexford County Council in respect of repairs to the storm wall at the pier.
