Vol. 402 No. 7

Written Answers. - Baldoyle Estuary Dublin Nature Reserve.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Ceist:

31 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for the following works to be carried out at Baldoyle Estuary, Dublin 13 in order to make this nature reserve accessible to the general public: (1) the provision of proper pathways (2) the publication of a comprehensive information leaflet outlining the various species over-wintering at the estuary, and (3) the provision of by-laws governing the nature of the reserve; and when these works will be undertaken.

The Wildlife Service of the Office of Public Works have no plans for the development of pathways at present. Consideration will be given to producing a leaflet for this site. Regulations for managing the reserve are currently being drafted. I am not in a position to give a date for implementation of the regulations as opportunities for comment will first be given to various interests involved.
