Vol. 402 No. 8

Written Answers - Land Registration Delay.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

86 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in the registration of a holding of land (details supplied) in County Mayo.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this case involves an application for registration of a Land Commission vesting document and an associated transfer of part application.

There is a delay in completing vesting cases as priority is given to more urgent applications and the completion of the transfer order application in this case has been delayed on account of its association with the vesting application.

I am also informed, however, that it is the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible, to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist. Any such case will be specially considered if details of the reasons for urgency are submitted to the Registrar and the applicant in this case, and his solicitor, have been so advised.
