Vol. 403 No. 1

Written Answers. - Inheritance Tax Liability.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

89 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Finance if a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be exempted from inheritance tax, on the basis of the favourite nephew clause, in view of the fact that he lived on and worked the farm in question for the past 40 years.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they have sought further information in this matter before deciding if the exemption is to apply. Any decision by them to refuse the exemption would be subject to a right of appeal to the Appeal Commissioners.
