123 Mr. Tunney asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is annoyance and disappointment in Finglas and adjoining districts because of the delay with provision of the promised employment exchange; and when construction work will commence on this project.
I am aware of the need for an employment exchange in Finglas. The Department of Social Welfare are extremely anxious to establish a social welfare services office which will include an employment exchange and funds for the project have been made available. Tenders for construction of the office have just been received by the Commissioners of Public Works and these are being examined. It is expected that work will commence on site early in the New Year.
