Patrick D. Harte

Ceist:

176 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the application made by Donegal County Council on behalf of the Ballybofey/ Stranorlar Conference seeking grant aid to provide housing accommodation for the elderly and other disadvantaged persons; and the reason for the delay in having funds provided for this deserving cause.

Patrick D. Harte

Ceist:

177 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Donegal County Council seeking grant aid for the provision of housing accommodation for the elderly and other disadvantaged persons whose interests are being looked after by St. Mary's Conference and St. Oran's Conference, Buncrana, County Donegal and the Cheshire Home Committee, Letterkenny, County Donegal; and if, in view of the urgent needs of these cases, he will arrange to sanction the applications without further delay.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 175, 176 and 177 together.

Applications for capital grants under the voluntary housing scheme for these projects will be considered in the context of the amount available for the scheme in 1991 and the competing demands from other voluntary bodies for funds.
