Vol. 403 No. 4

Written Answers. - Limerick Schools Projects.

Willie O'Dea

Ceist:

249 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Education when the building proposal for St. Nessan's national school, Mungret, County Limerick, will go to tender.

Notification of a decision by the local authority to grant planning permission for the proposed extension to St. Nessan's national school, Mungret, County Limerick, was recently forwarded to my Department. When the final grant of planning permission has been received the preparation of the tender documents will be put in hands and these will be completed at the earliest possible date. I am not in a position to say, at this stage, when tenders will be invited for the project.

Ceist:

250 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Education if she will approve a proposed extra classroom for Donoghmore national school, Limerick.

The question of the provision of an additional classroom for Donoghmore national school, County Limerick, is being examined at present in consultation with my Department's professional advisers. A decision in this regard will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date. The Deputy will appreciate that the school's application only arises from my Department's recent approval of an additional teacher.

I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
