Vol. 403 No. 4

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Schools.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

289 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education the arrangements she intends to make for additional financial and teacher resources to schools that have been designated as disadvantaged by her Department; and the number of schools which have been so designated by her Department in (a) the primary sector and (b) the post-primary sector.

The question of additional resources for schools in disadvantaged areas is among the items being discussed in the context of a new Programme for Economic and Social Development.

The question of the number of schools which would be considered for that purpose will also be considered in that context.
