Ceist:228 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the time frame she intends for the production of a Green Paper on a comprehensive Education Act; the length of time a consultative process should take; and when she intends issuing a White Paper on the proposed legislation.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 46 and 228 together. I would hope to be in a position to issue a White Paper by spring 1992 setting out the Government's policy to be reflected in subsequent legislation. Prior to the White Paper I envisage the preparation and publication of a Green Paper by the summer of 1991. The Green Paper will be a discussion document affording the opportunity to all parties to offer views.
