Vol. 403 No. 4

Written Answers. - Down's Syndrome Children.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

42 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the programme in operation in Dublin to integrate Down's syndrome children into normal schools; and if she will consider extending further support from departmental funds to the scheme.

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 157, 158 and 159 of 29 May 1990. The Primary Education Review Body will be presenting their report shortly. I understand this report will include recommendations in regard to the integration of children with handicaps. My Department will then consider the appropriate course of action in the light of these recommendations.
