Vol. 403 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

107 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance when a refund of income tax in respect of medical expenses incurred will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer submitted a claim for income tax relief in respect of health expenses for the income tax years 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90.

A review of the taxpayer's liability for these years showed overpayments of £27.05 for the year 1987-88, £20.81 for the year 1988-89 and £282.48 for the year 1989-90. Cheques for these amounts were issued to the taxpayer on 28 September 1990.
