160 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for the Environment when a financial allocation will be made to Cavan Urban Council for the repair of houses at Breffni Terrace, Cavan; and if his attention has been drawn to the serious condition of these houses and the health hazard and fire hazard they cause to the residents.
Cavan Urban District Council have indicated that they favour the demolition and replacement of these houses rather than their repair and renovation. This is under consideration in my Department and the council will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible. In so far as a financial allocation is concerned, I would refer the Deputy to the reply to Question No. 160 of 11 December 1990.
