204 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Health when the new geriatric ward in Bantry County Hospital, County Cork, will be opened for the admission of patients; and the reason for the delay of almost two years in the opening of same.

It is expected that the new geriatric ward in Bantry County Hospital will open for admission of patients early next year. I am aware that the new ward has been included as a top priority project in the Southern Health Board's 1991 expenditure programme.
