Vol. 404 No. 1

Written Answers. - Leinster House Heating System.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

75 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance the reason, on non-sitting days, the heating system in Leinster House ceases to function early in the afternoon rendering it impossible for Dublin based Deputies and staff to work in the unduly cold conditions; and if he will give an assurance that the heating levels in the House will be maintained at all times during which the House is open.

On non-sitting days the practice has been to turn off the heating system at 5 p.m. as an energy conservation measure.

If longer heating hours are required, arrangements can be made to provide accordingly by informing the Office of Public Works of the extended times agreed by the appropriate authorities.
