Ceist:

232 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Labour if he will outline the schemes or funding which are available for organisations such as one (details supplied) in Dublin 17 who are working in the area of unemployment; the way in which applications for inclusion in such schemes should be presented; if he will outline any other relevant advice and guidelines of these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

FÁS provide funding for certain centres for the unemployed, nominated by ICTU, such as that specified by the Deputy, to assist them with overheads such as rent and administration. Additional assistance is sometimes provided for such centres through participation in the social employment schemes.

The application procedures involved would be a day-to-day matter for FÁS.
