Written Answers. - Advertising and PR Expenditure.

Ceist:

92 Mrs. Fennell asked the Taoiseach if he will outline the expenditure in 1990 in his Department on advertising and public relations including bulletins, newsletters, public information and leaflets; and the amount which was paid to external or non-public service consultants.

The following is the information requested by the Deputy in respect of my Departments.

Department of the Taoiseach: £134,423.18 was spent in respect of advertising etc. in 1990; £109,819.92 was spent in respect of external and non-public service consultants in 1990.

Central Statistics Office: The only paid advertising expenditure by CSO in 1990 was £67,000 in respect of recruitment of temporary field staff for the censuses of population and agriculture and the labour force survey. A "CSO Guide to Publication and Information Services" printed internally was issued. The estimated cost was £5,000.

Roinn na Gaeltachta: Feachtas Fógraíochta don Ghaeilge — £36,971 (íochta le hÁisineacht Fógraíochta).
