63 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education if she has made any study of the system of conductive education developed in Hungary for children with cerebral palsy; and if she intends to take any steps, in conjunction with the Minister for Health, to establish such an educational system here.
I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 49 and 198 on 12 February last, in which I indicated the measures already taken by my Department in the area of conductive education.
As I said then, my Department are currently reviewing the impact of these measures before deciding whether further support for the conductive method is appropriate. Officials of my Department are in contact with officials of the Department of Health in this matter.
