Ceist:192 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the level of financial assistance which may be made available to parents of school children where school transport is terminated.

Where a school transport service is terminated, my Department may offer grant assistance of £1.50 to £3 per day (depending on the distance involved) towards the cost of private transport arrangements for those children who live at least 3 miles from their appropriate school.
All applications for such assistance are considered in the light of the circumstances of the particular case.
