196 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Education if proposals were received in her Department for improvements to Ardfinnan primary school, County Tipperary; if she will give approval to these plans this year; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
I have approved a permanent extension and essential improvements to Ardfinnan national school, County Tipperary. The preparation of a sketch plan for the project is in hands and this will be completed at the earliest possible date when it will be sent to the school authorities to enable them to apply for planning permission. I am not in a position at this stage to say when building works will commence.
An application for grant-aid towards the cost of works to the prefabricated classrooms is under consideration in my Department and a decision in this regard will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.
