Ceist:171 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if, in relation to section 60 (1) of the Civil Liability Act, 1961, which provides that a road authority shall be liable for damage caused as a result of their failure to maintain adequately a public road and in view of subsection (7) of the same section which provided that the section was to come into operation not earlier than 1 April 1967 as might be fixed by order of the Government, he will outline the reason that 30 years later no such order has yet been made.
