49 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline (1) when licences were issued to the developers of a marina in Malahide, County Dublin, and (2) the number of licences issued; whether licence No. 4 relating to the water-based activities of the marina has issued; and, if not, whether he intends to hold a pulic oral hearing before the issue of licence No. 4.
Agreement was reached in early April on terms and conditions to apply to four foreshore leases at Malahide. The legal formalities in relation to these leases are in train.
No lease has yet been offered in respect of the development of a marina proper in Malahide. The issue of such a lease is subject to the resolution of a number of outstanding issues including mooring rights and arrangements within Malahide estuary. These issues will continue to be pursued with all the parties concerned. The question of a public inquiry under the Foreshore Act does not arise at this stage.
